DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY POLICIES
1. WHO IS THE DATA CONTROLLER?
By virtue of the Spanish Personal Data Protection regulations, the user (hereinafter, the USER) hereby authorises the processing of his or her personal data provided through the URL www.institutoautor.org (hereinafter, WEBSITE) to:

2. FOR WHAT PURPOSE AND ON WHAT LEGITIMATE BASIS WILL YOUR PERSONAL DATA BE PROCESSED?
The personal data provided by the USER through the WEBSITE will be processed by the INSTITUTO AUTOR for the following purposes:
- To manage the registration in the INSTITUTO AUTOR’s monthly newsletter, as well as other communications of activities organised by the Association.
3. WHAT ARE THE CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL DATA TO BE PROCESSED?
The INSTITUTO AUTOR will collect the following personal data from the USER:
- Identification data: name, surname and nationality.
- Contact details: e-mail address.
- Professional data: profession, job or similar.
If the USER provides data of third parties, it declares that the USER has their consent and undertakes to provide them with the information contained in the Privacy Policy, exempting the INSTITUTO AUTOR from any responsibility in this regard.
The personal data provided by the USER in the WEBSITE forms are, in general, obligatory (unless otherwise specified in the required field) to comply with the purposes for which they are collected. If the USER does not provide the data, or does not provide them correctly, the requests for which they are intended cannot be fulfilled, without prejudice to the display of the rest of the contents of the WEBSITE.
4. WHAT TYPES OF DATA SUBJECTS APPLY TO EACH WEBSITE?
In accordance with the purposes described in point 2, data will be processed on the following category of data subjects:
- For the monthly newsletter: persons interested in receiving the monthly newsletter and communications by electronic means relating to other activities of INSTITUTO AUTOR.
5. HOW LONG DO WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
The INSTITUTO AUTOR will only keep the USER’S personal data for the time necessary to carry out the purposes for which they were collected, and as long as the consent granted is not revoked. Subsequently, if necessary, the INSTITUTO AUTOR will keep the information blocked until the prescription of the legal responsibilities that may have arisen as a result of processing the USER’s personal data, at which time the data will be irreversibly deleted.
6. DATA SECURITY
The INSTITUTO AUTOR has implemented the necessary technical and organisational measures to guarantee the security of your personal data and prevent its alteration, loss, unauthorised processing or access, taking into account the state of technology, the nature of the data stored and the risks to which they are exposed.
7. WHO ARE THE RECIPIENTS OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
The INSTITUTO AUTOR will not transfer the USER’s personal data to third parties without the express consent of the owner. Without prejudice to the above, the USER is informed that their data may be communicated when required by the competent administrative authorities or by court order.
8. COMMERCIAL COMMUNICATIONS
Spanish Law 34/2002, of 11 July, on information society services and electronic commerce, allows commercial communications to be made through the use of the internet and other electronic media, provided that they can be identified as such, as well as the entity from which they are made.
The INSTITUTO AUTOR will send commercial communications by post about similar services that may be of interest to the user. However, the INSTITUTO AUTOR will offer the recipient the possibility of opposing the processing of their data for promotional purposes, both at the time of data collection, as well as in each of the commercial communications sent to them.
USERS may unsubscribe from these communications by sending a letter to the registered office of the INSTITUTO AUTOR indicated above or to the address info@institutoautor.org indicating “Unsubscribe from commercial communications” and identifying themselves as a user.
9. WHAT RIGHTS DO USERS HAVE?
As the owner of the data, the USER may send a letter to INSTITUTO AUTOR, to the address indicated in the heading of this Privacy Policy, attaching a photocopy of his/her identity document, at any time and free of charge, to exercise the following rights:
- Right of Access: You will have the right to be informed by INSTITUTO AUTOR whether or not it is processing your personal data and, if so, to be able to access such data and receive information on the purposes for which they are processed, the categories of data affected by the processing, the recipients to whom your personal data were communicated and the expected period of data retention, among other information.
- Right of Rectification and Deletion: You will have the right to request the deletion of personal data provided that the legal requirements are met, and the rectification of inaccurate data concerning you when, among other reasons, these are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected.
- Limitation of processing, withdrawal of consent and total or partial objection to processing: In certain circumstances (e.g. where the applicant disputes the accuracy of his or her data, while the accuracy of the data is being verified), he or she may request that the processing of his or her personal data be restricted and processed only for the purpose of pursuing or defending claims. You also have the right to revoke the consent given and to object to the processing at any time.
- Other rights: In any case, you may contact the Data Protection Delegate of the INSTITUTO AUTOR with proof of identity at the registered office of the INSTITUTO AUTOR indicated above or at the following e-mail address: info@institutoautor.org.
