SIMPLE SEARCH:

COLLECTION TYPE SELECTOR

To search all collections, select “All”.

Select the corresponding option to narrow the search to the General Collection of the Instituto Autor, the Ramon Casas Library, or the Publications of the Instituto Autor.

FREE SEARCH FIELD

Allows you to search in a single field (title, author, subject, publisher…), or in all the above fields simultaneously, by entering words or phrases in the search box. Please note that, except for the information concerning international works originally published in foreign languages, fields such as titles and subjects are drafted in Spanish.

The steps to follow to perform a quick search are as follows:

  1. Go to the home page and position yourself in the search box at the top of the screen.
  2. Enter a word or phrase in the text area that identifies the content you wish to locate.
  3. Click the Search button.

The search will be performed among all the records in the catalogue, including the titles, subtitles and articles of Journals, Collections, Repertories and Books, as well as the other associated data included in the description of each document.

Remember that if you want to perform an exact search, you must use quotation marks before and after the search terms.

Example:

If you want to search for content by author Julia Perez, type “Julia Perez” with quotation marks. If you do not use them, the search engine will offer results that match Julia Perez, Julia, and Perez. If you want to search for a publisher, author, or subject, we recommend using the specific fields (fields with automatic suggestions).

FIELDS WITH AUTOMATIC SUGGESTIONS:

Typing in the Publisher, Author and Subject fields will display the existing options in the database. The platform has a predictive search engine, so that as the user enters words, the search engine will display the matches found in the catalogue. Select the option you are interested in adding to the field.

Example:

If you want to search for an author whose last name is Perez, when you start typing, all authors containing “Perez” will be displayed. The drop-down menu allows you to select the author from the list to obtain more precise results.

ADVANCED SEARCH:

The search engine allows searches using specific criteria, such as fund type, author, title, publisher, subjects, and year of publication.

Example:

Collection type: “General Collection”

Free field: “Art”.

Publisher: “Bercal”.

Subject “Collective Management Entities”.

The terms included in these fields will be displayed in the results as options that can be deactivated to expand the list of results.

In the previous case, if “Entidades de Gestión Colectiva” is eliminated, the results are automatically updated, keeping the initial search terms: “Fondo General +Arte + Bercal”.

Multiple subject search:

On the results page you can add more than one subject to narrow down the results. Search for the subject in the corresponding field and click “Search”. The added subjects can be removed individually to expand the search results.

Save or share Results:

Finally, the search results may be saved by clicking on the “share” icon and thus copying the link to the results page with the selected search terms.

Information sheet for each work

When visiting any result, the different elements that make up the descriptive card will be displayed. Along with this information, access to other related documents will also be provided.

  • Works by the same author.
  • Fascicles of the same Journal.
  • Documents related to the same subject.
